Who we are
Motor City Organics operates this site. By using this site or signing in, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the site.
Accounts
You can sign in with Apple, or with your email and a password (Sign in with Shop where it is offered). You are responsible for keeping your password and your Apple ID secure. We will never ask you for your password by email, phone or message. If you lose access to your sign-in, contact us and we will help you recover or transfer your account data.
Orders and shipping
- Prices and stock can change.
- The price in your cart is what you pay before sales tax. Where your state requires sales tax, checkout adds it and shows it before you pay.
- We ship within the United States and to 27 other countries. International rates are calculated at checkout, and customs duties, taxes and import fees are paid by the customer.
- US shipping is $5.95 on orders under $25. Free on orders of $25 or more.
- Ships in 3 to 5 business days.
- Once the carrier marks an order delivered, it's on you to find it.
Returns
Unused, unopened product in its original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Opened or used product cannot be returned. Email us before shipping anything back. You pay return shipping unless the item arrived damaged or defective. Approved refunds go to the original payment method within 5 to 7 business days of approval. We do not do direct exchanges. If an order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos and we replace it or refund it.
MCO Credit
MCO Credit is store credit that you can apply against a future order on this site. It is not cash, has no monetary value off this site, and cannot be redeemed for money. Apply it from the cart with the MCO Credit toggle at checkout, up to your available balance.
- Order minimums. Promotional credit (welcome, quiz, review, Atlas and referral rewards) applies on orders with a subtotal of $20 or more. Credit won at the welcome table applies on orders of $35 or more. Credit you paid for, such as a gift, has no minimum.
- Quiz credit. Finishing the quiz earns $5 in MCO Credit once per email address or account, and only when you are signed in with a confirmed email, or give your email at the end of the quiz, which adds you to our email list and holds the credit for that email until you sign in with it and confirm it. An email already on our list gets no quiz credit from that box; sign in with it and take the quiz again instead. Finishing the quiz without either earns no credit.
- How much applies. Promotional and welcome table credit applies only in part on a smaller order, and on one with a free gift, the first-order discount or a sale. Larger orders can use more of it. The cart shows the exact amount before checkout, and the rest stays in your balance for a later order. Credit you paid for always applies in full.
- Non-transferable. Credit belongs to the account that earned it. You cannot transfer it to another customer or another account.
- One account, one balance. We may suspend accounts that try to inflate MCO Credit by creating multiple accounts or by automating actions.
- One address is one inbox. Wherever a reward or a discount is once per email address, a +tag (name+1@) and, on Gmail, dots in the name count as the same address, because they reach the same inbox.
- Expiration. Credit may expire 12 months after your last completed purchase. We will email you before any expiration so you can use it.
- Account closure. If your account is closed for any reason, any remaining MCO Credit is void and cannot be refunded as cash.
- Refunds. If you return a purchase that was paid for in part with MCO Credit, the credit portion is returned to your MCO Credit balance, not refunded to your card.
The Scent Atlas reward program
Your Scent Atlas is a shelf of all 10 MCO scents. Atlas credit comes from buying: each scent's tile carries a $3 MCO Credit reward, paid once when a qualifying purchase lights it, with a $25 bonus once all 10 tiles are lit. Total: up to $55 in MCO Credit.
- Browsing. Reading a product page marks that scent's tile as browsed. Browsing earns no MCO Credit.
- How a tile lights. A qualifying purchase in a scent lights its tile and adds $3 in MCO Credit to your balance. Each scent pays once.
- Qualifying purchase. A paid order that includes any product in that scent. The tile and its $3 credit follow the email address the order was placed with, and both land on your account when you sign in with that email and confirm it. If that email is not on file with us when the order is paid, the order lights no tile, and claiming it later adds a claim credit instead. The order must be completed and not refunded.
- Completion bonus. When all 10 tiles are lit, we add the $25 bonus once per customer.
- Refunds. If you refund the order that lit a tile, we may return that tile to browsed and remove its $3 credit from your balance.
- Program changes. We may change the credit amount, the qualifying rules, or end the program. Credit you have already earned stays yours, subject to the MCO Credit section above.
Subscribe & save
You can subscribe to any product to ship on a regular schedule. How often it ships depends on the product: body wash every 4 weeks, lotion every 6 weeks, bar soap 2-pack every 7 weeks, scrub every 4 weeks. You can change how often each subscription ships from your account.
- Discount. Subscribe & save takes 15 percent off the subscription line item.
- Pause or cancel anytime. Manage from your account. There is no minimum number of shipments and no cancellation fee.
- Stacking. Subscribe & save does not combine with the bundle 10 percent discount: a cart with a subscription line does not qualify for the bundle. No individual line item is ever sold below 50 percent of its list price after all stacked discounts apply.
- Price changes. We will notify you by email before any price change takes effect on an active subscription.
- Skipped shipments. If a payment fails, we will retry once and then pause the subscription until you update the payment method.
The welcome table
- What it is. New and returning customers can play a hand of blackjack against the house on this site. The house stakes $5 in MCO Credit, each winning hand adds $5 to the table, and you can cash out any time for the balance, up to $20. The credit is promotional MCO Credit and is subject to the MCO Credit section above.
- Claiming. The credit lands on your account when you sign in with the email you played with. One welcome table per customer, per email address. An email address already on our list keeps the credit it had; the table adds none.
- Minimum order. Win up to $20 in MCO Credit for your next order of $35 or more. Larger orders can use more of it. The minimum is the subtotal before shipping and tax. The cart shows how much of the credit applies before you pay, and the rest stays in your balance for a later order.
- Double down. If you double down and win, a free bar soap 2-pack (Goat Milk Oasis or Turmeric Citrus Grove, your pick) ships with your next order of $35 or more, judged before discounts and credit, while stock lasts. One per customer. It has no cash value and is not sold separately as part of the offer.
- Free shipping. Shipping is free on orders of $25 or more, so a qualifying order ships free.
- No cash value. Table credit cannot be redeemed for money and is void if the account is closed. We may suspend accounts that play the table with multiple email addresses or by automated means.
- Program changes. We may change the stake, the cap, the qualifying rules, or end the table. Credit you have already cashed out stays yours, subject to the MCO Credit section above.
10 percent off a first order
- What it is. 10 percent off the one-time items on your first order on this site. Enter the email you will check out with in the cart. We check that the email has never placed an order with us, and the discount then applies at checkout. There is no code to type.
- One per email. It applies once per email address, counting a +tag or Gmail dots as the same address. An email that has already ordered from us, or has already used this discount, does not qualify.
- One per browser and account. A browser or a signed-in account that has already used this discount cannot use it again with a different email.
- One-time items only. It does not apply to an order that includes a Subscribe & save item, because a discount at checkout would turn the subscription into a one-time purchase. Subscribe & save keeps its own 15 percent.
- Discounts do not combine. When more than one discount fits your cart (the bundle 10 percent, a founder code, a seasonal sale or this one), checkout applies the single largest and none of the others. When two are equal, the other discount applies and this one stays unused.
- MCO Credit still applies on top, as described in the MCO Credit section above.
- Free gifts. The free bar does not come with this discount, and the free duo is measured on what you pay after it (see Free gifts below). Free shipping on orders of $25 or more is measured before it, so it is unchanged.
- Returns and cancellation are unchanged. Returns follow the Returns section above, and a refund is the amount you paid after the discount. Cancelling a subscription stops the next shipment and charge; it is not a refund.
- Program changes. We may change or end this offer. A discount already on a placed order is unaffected.
Free gifts
- The free bar. A one-time order of $35 or more gets a free Turmeric Citrus Grove bar. It does not apply to an order that includes a Subscribe & save item, and it does not come with the bundle 10 percent, the first-order 10 percent or a $5 founder code: when one of those applies, you get the discount instead.
- The free duo. An order of $85 or more also gets a free body wash and a bar soap 2-pack, in scents from your cart. On an order that includes a Subscribe & save item, the duo turns the order into a one-time purchase, and the cart asks you before checkout.
- How the amount is measured. Product prices as shown in your cart (a sale price counts when the sale is the discount that applies), after the bundle 10 percent, the first-order 10 percent or a $5 founder code when one applies, and before any other discount, shipping, tax and MCO Credit.
- One of each per order, while stock lasts. Gifts have no cash value and are not sold separately. Returns follow the Returns section above.
RELAUNCH40 promo (ended)
- The RELAUNCH40 welcome offer (40 percent off a first order of $75 or more) ran from May 22, 2026 to September 14, 2026 and has ended. It no longer applies at checkout. Orders placed with it before that date are unaffected. The welcome table above is the current welcome offer.
Acceptable use
Use the site for personal shopping. Do not scrape, attack, or circumvent our authentication. Do not attempt to inflate MCO Credit by creating multiple accounts or by automating actions. We may suspend accounts that do.
Content and trademarks
"Motor City Organics" and the tree logo are our trademarks. Product photography, copy, and design are our intellectual property. You may share links to product pages. You may not reproduce our copy or imagery for commercial purposes without written permission.
No medical claims
Our products are personal-care soap, lotion, and wash. They are not drugs and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. If you have sensitive skin, patch-test first.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the site or our products is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior twelve months. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts of Oakland County, Michigan.
Changes
If we change these terms materially, we will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after that date constitutes acceptance.
